First let me say, these are definitely gluten free. For those that do not know, they are considerably more dense than they appear and weight more than say a honey bun. I was surprised at first that they were so small, but once I picked one up understood. Even though they are small enough to look just the right size for my 5 year old, the texture is dense with very little air pockets. I couldn't imagine them being bigger not could they possibly be any different if they were to travel well. So if you are getting these thinking they are honey buns in texture, please change your perspective.
That being said, I appreciated that they held their form well and were individually packaged. I took one to a church potluck knowing I couldn't eat the dessert and it survived my purse. It had a nice sticky glaze layer on the outside which was very nice though my coffee addicted self could have has more coffee inside it. That however is preference and nothing against the company.
I only removed one star because I sincerely wish Katz didn't put "natural flavor" on the ingredients for this or other products. I like a great many people are allergic to a lot of natural things and having a transparent list is really helpful. What is worse, if I react to one product, I have to avoid other products like it because I don't know what specifically in the natural flavors got me. I reacted mildly to this one for example and I'm not sure what part of the natural flavor got me... The reaction is not katz fault, but now I'm not sure why I reacted to this particular product.
I do love that all the most most recent items I ordered were dairy free. My youngest can't do dairy so we can share this and other treats safely. 💗

These are tasty, and pair well with coffee, but the dough is very heavy and dense compared with similar pastries.

I guess I was expecting a full-size one…..this is smaller than my palm. I was so excited about this. The amount of disappointment outweighs the excitement. Taste is good but I feel like I would need to eat all 4 to feel like I ate anything. Now I’m not looking forward to the rest of items I ordered.

After years of not being able to eat gluten or dairy this product is life-changing! The taste and texture is amazing and it allows me to have something fun to eat at brunches alongside friends. Highly recommend!
