My gluten-free family has missed having toaster pastries, so I ordered as soon as I saw them. They did taste good!
A few things to improve- They were very fragile and the top came off the bottom part and would have liked a little more filling. Overall though I would buy them again!
The Katz brown sugar cinnamon toaster pastries are much closer to the original than the Bobo's. The good news, these have the filling exactly right! The "strip" of frosting is close, but it doesn't cover the whole pastry. The pastry itself is light and flakey, but extremely fragile... they emailed revised instructions to NOT put them upright in a toaster but heat them flat. I did that, laying my frozen pastry on the rack of our air fryer/oven and using the "toast" setting for six minutes (that's from completely frozen, would take much less time if yours are not frozen), it came out perfectly toasted, lightly browned and tasty... but crumbly. (I do store them in the freezer as they arrived marked "perishable"). I got a few boxes so will wait to order more, when hopefully they'll have the crust and frosting better, but glad I have them!
I loved these toaster pastries. The taste was delicious, and when you bit into it, it didn't feel like it was gluten free, it really felt like it was a typical store bought brand.
But as you're aware, they did tend to split apart in the toaster. And sometimes they were split when I opened a package, even before toasting.
Also when toasting, sometimes the frosting would melt and/or burn.
And finally, the frosting was a little sloppy on some pastries. On one it had frosting on both sides. Not a complaint really, just a point on consistency.
But honestly, the taste was so good, any of those complaints were ignored by me and I ate them as quickly as I could. Thank you for making these!!
The toaster pastries themselves are delicious. The frosting was intensely sweet and not applied evenly. I chose not to reheat the pastries and they were excellent as is. However I would like to see more than 4 in a package.
These are much closer to the real thing. Katz is above most other brands in Gluten Free pastries. My daughter loves these products.
