Ingredients
Instructions
- Crumble the Donuts: Break the donuts into small pieces in a large bowl. Use your hands or a food processor to make fine crumbs.
- Mix with Frosting: Add the frosting to the crumbled donuts and mix until well combined. The mixture should be moist but not overly sticky. Adjust the amount of frosting as needed.
- Form the Balls: Take small amounts of the mixture and roll them into balls (about 1 inch in diameter). Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Chill: Refrigerate the donut balls for about 30 minutes to firm up.
- Prepare Coating: Melt the candy melts or chocolate according to package instructions. You can do this in the microwave in short intervals, stirring in between.
- Insert Sticks: Dip the end of each lollipop stick into the melted chocolate, then insert it into a donut ball. This helps secure the stick.
- Coat the Pops: Dip each donut ball into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off. You can use a spoon to help coat it evenly.
- Add Sprinkles: While the coating is still wet, sprinkle with your choice of toppings if desired.
- Let Set: Place the coated cake pops upright in a styrofoam block or a cup to set completely.
- Serve: Once the coating is firm, your donut cake pops are ready to enjoy!
