Slice the onion into rings.

Prepare three bowls:

Bowl 1: Whisk together flour, garlic powder, paprika, and half of the salt.

Bowl 2: Whisk egg and milk, then mix in ⅓ cup of the flour mixture until smooth.

Bowl 3: Toss bread crumbs with the remaining salt and oil until crumbs are lightly coated.

Dip each onion ring in the flour mixture, then the egg wash, and back again for extra crispiness. Finally, coat with bread crumbs.

Place onion rings in an air fryer at 360°F. Cook for 16–20 minutes, flipping halfway through. (Tip: use a fork to flip so the batter stays on.)
